About
Wendy Sigley
for Virginia House of Delegates – District 2
Wendy Kathrine Sigley is a fiscal responsibility and leadership accountability-focused leader, with an equal passion for Virginia, Arlington County, and the entire Commonwealth of Virginia. Her foundation is premised on the motto coined in 1969, “Virginia is for Lovers.” Wendy Kathrine stands on party unity and collaboration which is, and will continue to be, a love for Virginia and its residents.
Formally educated at the Sacramento State University with a Baccalaureates Degree in Sociology and Psychology Minor, Wendy Kathrine started her career in the HMO discipline. Having then spent three decades in the military (and more recently the federal workforce) family around the globe, she has a myriad of exposure to various forms of government and civic forms of government throughout the United States, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. As a former Prince William County resident (2008-2015) and now a proud Arlington County resident, she intends to capitalize on her broad experience and apply that as a future House Delegate.
Having spent the vast majority of her early years and adulthood in a military and first responder family, she has developed a passion for those who serve in a uniformed capacity, driving her to ensure the Commonwealth continues to provide appropriate assistance to approximately 640,000 military veterans living in the Commonwealth. Previous statistics indicated 4% were below the Federal Poverty Level. Wendy will focus on programs that continue to assist these well-deserving Veterans, while maintaining frugal oversight of the disbursement of all budget items in like programs.
Wendy spent years abroad, focusing much attention on food sources and farming. Recognizing FDA permitted food additives (i.e. rBGH growth hormone and other additives used as color agents and flour bleaching) which are banned outside the USA, Wendy Kathrine will fight hard to align with our Lower House Delegate and the Upper House to sponsor Bills, intended to incentivize farmers, with an end goal of purer produce and live stock, focused more on purity and less on cosmetics and mass production. Additionally, this will be coupled with a passion for labels that proudly display “Made in Virginia."
